About: Brigitte Bruinsma
I fell in love with Bonaire in 2014 and moved here in 2019. I set off on my own with just two suitcases, intending never to return. Since then, I’ve met a wonderful partner here on the island, and we’ve welcomed our son, Thomas, into our family.
In my spare time, I love taking photos on Bonaire—capturing nature, wildlife, and water sports enthusiasts, especially freestyle windsurfers. It’s a fantastic hobby to have here, given the number of world champions living on the island. Besides windsurfing, I enjoy working out (circuit training), although I haven't managed to get out on the water myself since Thomas was born. I also enjoy creative pursuits; for instance, I make signs out of driftwood and practice 'mindful doodling.'
